The Best Gaming Smartphone in 2022

We’ve all seen how the world of smartphones has changed dramatically in the last ten years, from how we interact with them to how much money we’re willing to spend on them.

Over two billion people now own and use smartphones worldwide, and this figure is expected to skyrocket in the coming years.

Smartphones have many applications today, but one of the most popular is gaming, especially on mobile platforms like Android and iOS.

1. Red Magic 7

We couldn’t help but put iBuyPower’s Red Magic 7 first in our latest roundup of gaming smartphones.

It does not win every category in which we test it, but it is by far our favorite to use. With an amazing 120Hz display and a solid all-around spec sheet, no other phone will be able to unseat iBuyPower’s latest offering.

But, as in previous years, one company will not sit back and let another company win without a fight.

2. Asus ROG Phone 5

One of our favorites is the newest and possibly strangest Android phone to emerge from MWC 2018.

The Asus ROG Phone is designed to be used with a variety of accessories, including an air trigger, gamepad controller, and TwinView dock.

Some may find all of these bells and whistles superfluous, but if you already have a full desktop VR setup at home, you can have them all synced up for when you step out for some face-melting Fortnite action on your way to work.

3. Poco F4 GT

While top-tier components do not always make for a good gaming phone, Xiaomi’s Poco F4 GT is an excellent choice for both beginners and advanced gamers.

It can play 3D games smoothly, even at high graphics settings, thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset and up to 6GB of RAM.

The phone comes with 64GB or 128GB of storage as well as support for microSD cards for additional storage.

The device is powered by a large 4000mAh battery that will keep you going for the duration of your gaming sessions.

The best part is that the F4 GT doesn’t look like your typical gaming smartphone—it’ll be difficult to tell it apart from the Mi 8 SE.

4. Black Shark 4 Pro

The 4get.Black Shark 4 Pro is a phone for those who want an immersive gaming experience while also looking for a capable smartphone that isn’t too expensive.

The main selling point here is the gamepad attachment, which allows you to play for longer and more comfortably while still getting that adrenaline rush from playing your favorite game.

It has excellent battery life and build quality, allowing it to compete with flagship devices from Apple, Samsung, and Google.

Overall, while there are better options available now than when it was first released, if you’re looking for a good gaming phone without breaking the bank, we recommend checking out 4get.

5. Red Magic 7 Pro

The Red Magic 7 Pro’s 2K 60Hz AMOLED display with G-sync provides a smooth and fast gaming experience.

Nothing breaks your immersion more than tearing and stuttering on the screen. You can finally say goodbye to screen tearing and stuttering with Red Magic 7 Pro.

With an ultrafast refresh rate of 120 Hz, you can play all of your favorite games in high definition (the highest on any smartphone today).

When playing high-graphics games like Mortal Kombat 11 or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you will experience lag-free action.

The Razer Chroma RGB backlit keyboard allows for more accurate typing and gaming responsiveness.

6. Asus ROG Phone 5S Pro

The 5S Pro is a high-end phone with top-tier specs that make it one of the best gaming smartphones of all time.

The processor ensures that you have high power at your fingertips while also delivering high performance.

This smartphone also has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, though there are models with even more storage.

The OLED screen may be a detriment to some users, but if you like vibrant colors and deep blacks, you won’t find better than what’s on offer here.

Finally, there’s a fantastic 48-megapixel camera for taking stunning photos wherever you go.

7. iPhone 13 Pro Max

This device will be a full-screen flagship with an OLED screen. It will have an edge-to-edge display, a notch, and thin bezels.

It will be available in five different colors: black, white, red, blue, and gold. It will support wireless charging in addition to fast charging. It will be powered by Apple’s A13 chip and have at least 6GB of RAM.

There will also be 128GB/256GB onboard storage options. In terms of optics, there is said to be a 12MP + 12MP dual camera system on board, while selfies can be taken with a 20MP shooter up front, which also has a flash for low-light conditions.

8. Oppo Find X5 Pro

Oppo is no stranger to stunning smartphones. The Find X was a true stunner in 2018, with an edge-to-edge display with one of Android’s first notches and a slide-able motorized camera system that opened and closed with a swipe.

The Find X5 Pro builds on these traditions with an even more innovative design: an under-display fingerprint sensor that unlocks your phone as soon as you touch it and may even allow you to play games while doing so.

Of course, Oppo does not skimp on hardware: top-tier performance (again), solid cameras, and cutting-edge wireless charging technology.

9. Red Magic 6R

This phone is largely similar to the Red Magic Mars, but with a few features removed and prices reduced.

Its RAM is reduced from 8GB to 6GB, and its dual rear cameras are reduced from 48MP + 8MP to 28MP + 5MP. The battery is also slightly smaller, at 4500mAh rather than 5000mAh, but should still be sufficient for a full day’s use.

It is powered by cutting-edge hardware, so its gaming performance will far outperform even high-end phones from 2018!

10. Poco X3 Pro

The sub-$400 Poco X3 Pro has surprised many people, but it’s one of the best budget gaming smartphones right now.

The Snapdragon 675 chipset powers the Poco X3 Pro, which also has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a 1080p display, a headphone jack, and dual front-firing speakers that are quite good for such a low-cost device.

The 3500mAh battery may not be large enough to last all day, but it does support fast charging as well as wireless charging, which not many gaming phones do.
